Abby is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia who has worked in behavioral health settings for 8 years. Abby earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from The University of Virginia’s College at Wise in 2014 and her Master’s of Science in Counselor Education at East Carolina University in 2016. Abby has worked in a variety of clinical settings to include psychosocial rehabilitation centers, intensive in-home/mental health skill building agencies, therapeutic day treatment within school settings, and intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization programs. Abby also has experience providing therapeutic support within inpatient programming and supervising program management. Within these settings, Abby has provided individual, family, and group therapy services.
Abby focuses on building a supportive, safe, and collaborative relationship with her clients to enhance and preserve the therapeutic process. Abby works with people ages 18-35 helping those facing issues with anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. Abby has experience using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, mindfulness-based interventions, exposure therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
