Hunter is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and a double graduate of Longwood University, where she earned her Bachelor’ s Degree in Psychology in 2017 and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019. She has worked in a number of clinical settings including: inpatient residential substance use treatment facilities, outpatient integrative care for substance use and co-occurring disorders, a local community service board, and served as the clinician on the Richmond Juvenile Behavioral Health Docket.
She is passionate about the needs of others and working with youth to build their best future. Hunter strives to create a supportive, engaging, and inclusive therapeutic environment that allows clients to feel empowered and valued. She practices from a multi-theoretical orientation emphasizing Person Centered and a Humanistic approach. She believes meeting the client where they are at is the best place to start and easiest way to build positive rapport to facilitate client growth and goal accomplishment. Hunter works with children ages 6 and up, adolescents, and adults.
