Jonathan Yoder is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Jonathan specializes in the psychiatric treatment of adults ages 18 and up suffering from depression, including difficult to treat or treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
He provides an individualized treatment plan, that explores lifestyle, psychological, and pharmacological and medical factors to help you get back to feeling well. Jonathan believes that investing in understanding people’s experiences from multiple perspectives, not just making a checklist diagnosis, and creating clear treatment goals are keys to identifying the best tools to address the unique challenges you are facing. He strives to respect patients as unique individuals and to acknowledge the impact their gender, race, sexual orientation, and life experiences have on their health and their treatment in the healthcare system.
Jonathan graduated from Johns Hopkins University with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008 and from James Madison University with his Master of Science in Nursing in 2012. He completed additional advanced practice nursing certifications from the University of Pennsylvania (adult acute care) and George Mason University (psychiatric mental health). He also earned his PhD in Nursing (a non-clinical research degree) from the University of Virginia.
