Kristina Gilbert, LPC

Kristina Gilbert, LPCKristina A. Gilbert, LPC, BAT (Licensed Professional Counselor, Behavior Analyst Technician) has over 15 years of providing services to children (2 years and over) through adults on the Autism Spectrum in outpatient, medical hospital settings, therapeutic day treatment settings, and intensive in-home. In addition, she has experience with medically complicated cases, uncommon diagnoses (Smith Magenis Syndrome and PANDAS) and childhood/developmental diagnoses like: ADHD, ODD, CD, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Attachment Disorders, Enuresis, Encopresis, and Schizophrenia. This includes clients with learning disabilities, motor disorders, deaf-blind, intellectual disabilities, and communication delays. She also works with adults, families, and couples in the individual and family counseling sessions.

Graduating from Loyola College in Maryland with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and basic training in psychological testing she has been able to utilize her knowledge of testing to further facilitate treatment plan creation and delivery of services to those with cognitive challenges. Early training was received through the Behavioral Psychology Department at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore Maryland as an outpatient therapist for 5 years. Other areas of training include trauma informed counseling in intensive in-home settings and Clinical Supervision for Medicaid funding sources. Other areas of service include Borderline patients, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, and dual diagnosed clients.

Ms. Gilbert works with patients holistically while helping them to stabilize all areas of their lives. Years of working with those on the spectrum has allowed for “thinking outside the box” and using empirically validated treatments. Extensive work with Autism Spectrum including non-verbal populations has helped to collaborate with adjunct services in the medical and school settings. Looking to the future and setting attainable goals is critical.
