Our goal at Discovery Counseling & Consulting is to make your experience as beneficial as possible. This information will help your first appointment occur more smoothly. To prepare for your first appointment you should:

  • Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time if you have not completed your intake paperwork.  Arrive 15 minutes early if you have completed it.
  • Bring your insurance card and an ID, such as a Driver’s License, DMV Identification Card, or Birth Certificate. New healthcare laws require this verification of identity.

During the first appointment with your therapist, he or she will discuss with you what concerns brought you to therapy, your goals, and also things such as current symptoms, and family history. Your therapist wants to make sure he or she understands your concerns accurately. He or she then will discuss what treatment options may be most effective to help you achieve your goals.

If you need to change or cancel your initial appointment time it is important for you to call Discovery Counseling & Consulting and notify the staff.

We look forward to serving you and helping you achieve your goals.
